This policy explains what personal data OTA Playbook (otaplaybook.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. We collect as little as we can.
Who we are
OTA Playbook is the data controller for this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy at otaplaybook@gmail.com.
What we collect and why
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people find the site. It collects information such as pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived. We use it to decide what to write next. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent where the law requires it.
- Newsletter. If you sign up to our email list, we store your email address (and your name, if you give it) with our email provider, MailerLite, so we can send you new guides. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Our lawful basis is your consent.
- Emails you send us. If you contact us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply. If you share commission rates or other business information, we will never publish anything that identifies you without your permission.
- Comments. If comments are enabled and you leave one, we store your name, email address, comment and IP address to display it and help prevent spam.
- Server logs and security. Our host, Hostinger, and our caching software keep standard technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) to run the site securely.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies: essential cookies that make the site work, and analytics cookies (Google Analytics) that help us understand usage. If we show advertising in future (for example through Google AdSense), our advertising partners may also use cookies, and we will update this policy and ask for consent where required. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Some links on this site may be affiliate links. If you click one, the company may use a cookie to record that you came from OTA Playbook. See our disclaimer and affiliate disclosure for more.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers who help us run the site: Google (analytics), MailerLite (email), and Hostinger (hosting). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, under appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe.
- Emails: as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than two years.
- Analytics data: 14 months, then automatically deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive a copy. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email otaplaybook@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will update this page if anything changes and revise the date at the top.
